It’s Fall, which means it’s Witch Season. One thing witches love is to circle up with other witches. This week I was reminded of the power of being in a circle of women. It started, on Sunday, with Practical Magic 2. Without giving too much away, in the climax of the film, a multigenerational circle of women vanquish the bad guy by remembering their own power. A movie after my own heart. I highly recommend it.
On Tuesday, I taught an in-person workshop on cervical health. We sat in a circle and I shared information and answered questions. We meditated, we stretched, we learned, we commiserated.
Thursday my friend held her 20th Animal Medicine Circle, which I’ve been part of for about 10 years now. We smudged. We gave gratitude. We created a witch’s brew with our words, to cultivate intention and discipline and wisdom.
I know it sounds simple. But I can’t overstate how nourishing and empowering a circle of women can be.
I have another live event coming up in two weeks. It won’t be a circle of women exactly, but it should be fun. I’ll be at the Williamsburg Wellness Fair doing some women’s health myth-busting and offering free “ask me anything” sessions. You can get tickets here, and use the promo code WISEBODY10 for 10% off.
Thanks for reading and happy circling. Which bad guy should we vanquish next?
